This is a title sequence design for the moive “Mother” by Bong Joon- Ho. In this movie, a mother starts a relentless search to find the killer behind a young girl’s murder, and then she turns into a crazy woman trying to kill everyone who knows the real truth which her son Dojun killed the young girl.
We are confronted with the character “Mother,” who has a different type of “Motherhood” than the
typical portrayals and ideas about “Motherhood.” I used the revealing process of the burning cigarette with the mother and son statue as the framing device. Burning the mother and son statue represents the distortion of motherhood.
